Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar hosted a comprehensive “Awareness Programme” Against the use of Chinese Thread” (Gattu) in the practice of Kite Flying.
Various guests including Mr. Atul Sudhan president G.S sports club and Mr. Rakesh Dubey (JKAS) ADMINISTRATOR JAMMU CENTRAL COOPERATIVE BANK Ltd. And joint registrar (banking and finance cooperative societies J&K were guest of Honour.
Sh. Kulbir Handa Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP Jammu) was a (chief Guest ) & R.J Chaitanya from Radio Mirchi Plus Jammu was Special Guest. The event commenced with the traditional Lamp lightning and Saraswati Bandhana which was attended by all the dignitaries and Guests.
Madhuri Gupta from Class 11th spear headed the 1st Segment of the Programme, where she emphasized the necessity of an effective Ban against the use of such threads, which can lead to various accidents, unfortunate deaths in severe cases.
Dashmesh Singh from Class 8th and Manmeet Singh from Class 11th also spoke about various dentriments about using the plastic threads and draw the attention towards the fact that such use can be fatal not only for humans, but for birds and animals as well.
Isha bali proceeded the event & during the speech she appealed the masses to use the traditional thread for kite flying instead .
SSP Jammu Sh. Kulbir Handa assured that various steps are been taken to halt the hoarding and selling of such threads by the shopkeepers in market and aware the students about the consequences against the use of Chinese thread.
Mr. Atul Sudan engaged the participants with his knowledgeable thoughts and educated the students about various environmental hazards caused by the use of this plastic thread . Mr. Rakesh Dubey & R.J Chaitanya also appealed the masses for not to use the plastic Chinese thread and asked the children to use traditional Silk thread for kite flying and assured that they will keep campaigning against the use of Chinese thread.
Principal Shiksha Niketan Sh. Rameshwar Mengi Ji wrapped up the programme with a concluding speech . Certificated were distributed to the participants by various guests and the Principal . In his concluding speech, Principal Sh. Rameshwar Mengi Ji lauded the Lecturers of Hr. Sec. Wings and Mrs. Sunita Sharma for the successful management of the area.
