SHIKSHA NIKETAN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, JEEVAN NAGAR, celebrated Diwali on 19TH October,2025(SUNDAY), the festival of lights, with great zeal and enthusiasm. The school premises were beautifully decorated with handmade diyas,colorful candles, and buntings,colorful Rangoli’s showcasing the students’ creativity.The event was graced by esteemed guests, fostering a spirit of togetherness and festivity.

ABOUT THE CELEBRATION:-

Diwali festivities at Shiksha Niketan School brought together students, teachers, staff, and guests in a spirit of gratitude and joy. The event underscored the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of appreciation and respect, blending tradition with modernity.

DIGNITARIES OF THE EVENT:-

The Special guests for the occasion included; Shubam Mansotra Sub Inspector Samba, Mr.Dharminder Kumar DDC Chairman Bishnah, Reeta Mengi, Trustee of R.M. Charitable Trust; Director of RMPS Mr. Rakshan Mengi, Member of Management Ms. Kashish Mengi, Director of Pushp vatika and Gandhi Nagar Mr.Risheek Mengi and Ex teachers of the school, along with other dignitaries from sister concerns(Shiksha Niketan/Pushp Vatika/RMPS).

WELCOME OF DIGNITARIES:-

The guests were warmly welcomed by Principal Rameshwar Mengi and the school’s in-charges, who presented them with decorated saplings. The ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the guests, accompanied by holy hymns to Goddess Lakshmi.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CELEBRATION:-

Guest of Honor: The function was graced by respected dignitaries who added to the celebratory ambiance.Their presence underscored the school’s commitment to community engagement and cultural heritage.

Inspiring Address: The guest(s) of honor addressed the gathering, shared thoughts on the significance of Diwali,inspiring students and staff with values of unity and compassion.

Gifts Distribution: The highlight of the event was the distribution of Diwali gifts among the staff members of R.M. Public School,and Shiksha Niketan (PushpVatika, Jeevan Nagar, and Gandhi Nagar) by the Principal and the esteemed guests.This gesture highlighted the school’s gratitude towards its dedicated team.

Sumptuous Lunch:-  Delicious lunch arrangements were made for all attendees, adding to the festive cheer.The sumptuous spread reflected the school’s hospitality and warmth.

Cultural Performance: The Primary wing and Middle wing presented a beautiful Diwali dance and punjabi dance performance, filling the atmosphere with pious thoughts. And there was beautiful dance presented by Pushpvatika on the theme “ victory on evils” enthralled  the audience with captivating cultural performances, showcasing their talents and adding vibrancy to the celebration.

Speech By High Wing Teacher:-  Bandi Chhor Divas is a Sikh festival meaning the “Day of Liberation,” which celebrates the release of Guru Hargobind and 52 other princes from the Gwalior Fort in 1619. It is celebrated on the same day as the Hindu festival of Diwali, often involving lighting lamps, visiting gurdwaras, and fireworks.The day is also a reminder of the Sikh value of Sarbat da Bhala, which means “the welfare of all”.

WORDS OF MANAGEMENT:

At last Principal Sh. Rameshwar Mengi in his speech expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the guests, staff members, and students for making the Diwali celebration a grand success. He wished everyone a very happy Diwali and extended warm wishes for the upcoming festival’s of prosperity and joy (Dhanteras,Vishavkarma day/ Bhaidhooj). He hoped that the spirit of Diwali would bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all their families.

The celebration concluded with a delicious lunch, fostering a sense of community and joy among all present. The event culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks, presented by the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Harish Sharma, who expressed his sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, representatives, and staff members from different schools for their presence and contributions, which made the occasion a grand success.
